Inexpensive but wonderful speakers. Bright, clear sound and very powerful. Hooked up to my AV receiver which is connected to my DVD player, small form computer, TV and media box. All the components sound good with these speakers, especially my 32 inch TV. Been using these for 3 years now and very satisfied with them.

I got these 2 speakers delivered for 149.99(pair) which I think is a fantastic deal. I wish I had bought two pairs. They sound great. I couldn’t be happier. I’m sure you would have to spend at least $300 to get anything close. They are basically the top part of the RTi-10’s and since I had a subwoofer, I saved myself like $400. If you find these for a good price…buy them. I doubt for the money that you’ll be disappointed.

Great deal on quality Polk speakers……model is no longer manufactured and seller passed on the savings!

I RECEIVED THIS SPEAKERS AND INMEDIATELY WAS SURPRISED OF THE HIGH LEVEL OF QUALITY. I HOOKED THEM TO MY SYSTEM AND LOOOOOOVED THE SOUND, VERY WARM MUSICAL, GREAT MID RANGES AND REALLY GOOD BASS, FOR BOOKSHELFS,

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS 100 PERCENT

Excellent price, the sound is not quite what was expected but easily manipulated. Very crisp and clear high end. Perhaps a frequency response curve would be useful. The speakers have a pretty hard honk in the 1K-2K Hz range but it can be softened up with a graphic EQ. I have them paired up with a 2×12″ folded sub in a small room and with a minimum of tweaking the system sounds very clear, very natural and surpisingly powerful given the small size of the Polk speakers. They handle power well and my amps start to distort well before the speakers will. The aesthetics are great – small footprint and great lines. Certainly a high quality component.

I got a Boston Acoustics for Christmas with the same price as these from my son because he thought I haven’t bought one yet. We comapared the sound and this has an amazing cleaner sound. The sound doesn’t break up as compared to the Boston Acoustics which has a slight courseness in the high notes. These speakers are also capable of Bi-Amping whoch makes the sound slightly better.

You get what you pay. For the price, this is the best. However if you are music lover, buy the one with more bass or a subwoofer.

I am not an audio expert, but I am extremely pleased with the Polk RTi4 high performance bookshelf speakers. They came promptly and had excellent packaging. I actually got them to improve on the sound coming from my Sony TV. There is a dramatic improvement. I am using a high end amplifier with no surround sound. The voices are very clear and the music is excellent. There is adequate base for me but some might want a separate subwoofer. The highs are very clean, nice for classical and casual music. I recommend them highly.

I listened to these speakers at a store before buying them online. They don’t quite have the full sound of a good floor standing speaker, but are very close in quality to my Infinity SM85s, which are excellent. Put a subwoofer with these and they are outstanding. If I had to, I could get by w/ out the woofer. I listened to quite a few bookshelf speakers and this was the best.

Polk Audio RTi4 High Performance Bookshelf/On-Wall Speakers, Pair (Black Oak) (Purchased on 11/18/2007)

Great speakers, don’t need a woofer. Sounds good just as they come. Just the right size and performs like the big ones.

I bought these speakers for my dorm room. I have them running through the basic sony amplifier/ reciever (STR-DE197) I play all my music through itunes on my computer. These speakers get very loud and the clearity is unbelievable. I have only used computer speakers before, but I decided to upgrade to a stereo now that I live in my frat house. These speakers are loud and clear, but lack bass, which I guess is expected for their size. They trully sound great though and my old computer speakers have a serious sub and I have that hooked up with these to suplement. The bass is still tight its just not room thumping. I would highly recomend these though even if they are by themselves. Just remember great sound not a lot of bass.

I was replacing my old school Technics cabinet speakers with these. I heard them in the store and found them very impressive. Once I connected them to my Sony receiver I was totally amazed. These speakers are WELL worth the money and can be mounted right on the wall. Reggae and Metal sound really good, with very good surprising bass response. I am very happy and would recommend these speakers to anyone.

These speakers are small enough to fit easily in a bookcase yet put out enough undistorted volume to nearly fill my house. They didn’t do too well with bass-heavy music (I tried the Fugees) but they were extremely good with vocals from Bobby McFerrin–warm, sharp, responsive. I couldn’t stop smiling while I was listening to McFerrin on these. Combine these with a subwoofer and you’ll have a system good enough for listening to just about anything. I’ve combined them with a 5.1 speaker system from Polk, so I’ve got the home theater and pure music experiences both covered.

The styling is very nice: the grill is a curved shape that projects out from the housing, and the black finished wood veneer is quite pretty.

Polk Audio has once again produced a “near perfect” speaker. This is the first bookshelf speaker I have purchased in about fifteen years, so I am not the authority I once was on “the latest and greatest” in all things audio, but I will tell you for the money this is one outstanding deal. The sound quality is exceptional!

I’ve been listening to these speakers for over a week and am highly pleased. My previous system was a sony stereo system 120 watts per channel. Not only do these speakers have better quality, but they are louder.

I don’t normally write reviews for products that I purchase online, but I figured since I was so pleased I should share my experience. Definitely use good wires to hook these babies up or you wont exploit their full potential. The RTi’s have good bass but I feel like I need to add a sub to feel lower frequencies. When I turn the bass up it’s too straining on the speakers, hence a sub.

Can’t wait to add a sub to this banging setup! No regrets!

I have played these with a 50 watt/channel receiver and a 125 watt/channel preamp/power amp setup. The RTi4’s sounded great with both. They have very good bass for the size. The music sounds very natural. I recommend these highly, and I am pretty picky.

These speakers are top rate in sound quality! I use them for classical music and I find the mid to high frequencies to be excellent. As with all speakers this size, however, a subwoofer is necessary if you want the full range of bass to really rumble.

Compared to the sound quality of the mid-quality speakers from Polk Audio, the RTi4s are superior. Well worth the extra cost if you’re a music lover.

The Polk RTi4 speakers are a great set of bookshelfs at a decent price. These are very good speakers for a good quality, mid-range surround sound system. The high’s are great, the mid’s are great, and the lows are pretty decent. The low range is pretty bad, but since most people add a subwoofer to their audio systems any more, it doesn’t matter much. They sound great and have lots of power. These speakers can handle alot. Also, they look great. With or without the cover on, they look excellent. Everything sounds good on these speakers. Any kind of music, movies, or games, these speakers rock hard. I have these hooked up to my Pioneer VSX-812D. I plan on buying a pair of RTi6’s and moving the RTi4’s to the surrounds. I’d then like to round it off with a CSi5 and PW404. This is the first time I’ve tried Polk speakers, and I’m VERY pleased with the quality of the RTi4’s.. especially for the price.
